Monkeys, Octopus, Surgery, & Bow Boards...Oh my!

You asked for monkeys... you got it! And an octopus too! I just need to find the perfect cuppy for him....he needs a home! (Isn't he cute!?)

I had a slight crisis tonight. My spiral punch coded on me. Luckily, with minor surgery, I was able to bring it back to life! Phew! I thought I was going to have to go out and buy a replacement! My nursing skills are proving to be helpful in my crafting!

I got a bargain for a message board today so I am using it to hold all my hair clippies for some upcoming craft fairs!

Lots to do tomorrow, so I'm off to bed!

Craft Tip #1

If you use a shaped craft punch often, you'll notice it starts to get dull and doesn't cut very crisp edges after time.

To sharpen craft punches, take a piece of tin foil and cut the foil a few times using the punch.

It works for me!

More Cute Cupcake Cuppies

Here are the latest additions to my Etsy Shop! I am so excited about how they turned out! I am brainstorming other creatures to add to this collection!

Dorothy's Red Splarkle Shoes How-To

My daughter wants to be Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz for Halloween. Being ambitious, I decided I wanted to make my kids' costumes this year.

I found some cute little red shoes at Wal-Mart for $5 and got a bottle of red glitter glue.

Transforming these already cute shoes into Dorothy's infamous Red Sparkly shoes was fun, easy and inexpensive!

My 10 year old even did it herself!Just rub the glitter glue all over the shoes and let dry!
Easy Peasy!

Here is one of many "Kissing Balls" I made these past couple days. It's hard to get a picture of these. The pictures just don't do them justice. They really sparkle in the low light!

Hang them in your tree as an ornament, or hang them around the house like mistletoe to steal a kiss from that special someone!

Fun With Vinyl - A No Sew Project

My daughter and I watched Martha Stewart the other day and saw one of her guests make a tote out of staples and duct tape. I thought, good grief! But if you use the right material and not that tacky grey tape, (it comes in other colors) then it is a cute concept!
Click here for the link to the tutorial.

I believe on Martha she laminated fabric, but I just went and got some vinyl items, shower curtains, vinyl tablecloth pad... the cute patterned ones!

So my daughter and I tried it out!

It was so much fun to make. I think you could do just as much good using a sewing machine, but my daughter, who is 10, thinks that the stapling is fun.

You can embellish them with whatever you please. My daughter sewed buttons all over hers. I left mine plain and simple. They will make great beach bags!

Here is what our bags looked like:
